Some of Haroon's early works of writing can be found on ASPAlliance.com. ASPAlliance.com was the first Web site to publish Haroon's articles that he wrote on Microsoft's Active Server Pages and SQL Server technologies. His interest in these technologies during his studies led him to write on these subjects. According to Haroon, writing articles were for him was a way of making notes for future reference.

The ASPAlliance.com community undertook a book authoring project. Like many members of the community, Haroon also gained the opportunity to work as a co-author on this project.
